How CriteriaDesk uses affiliate links while keeping its criteria-first editorial method independent.

Some links on CriteriaDesk are affiliate links. If you register or buy through one of these links, CriteriaDesk may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

The affiliate links currently used on CriteriaDesk belong to the Make and Albato programs. Those links are marked near the link or recommendation-like section and may generate a commission.

Acceptance into an affiliate program does not automatically create a public link, recommendation, product offer, or editorial priority. CriteriaDesk does not need to list programs that are not used in a public link.

CriteriaDesk is not currently an Amazon Associate and does not currently use Amazon affiliate links. If that status changes, this page and relevant local disclosures will be updated before Amazon links are published.

Applications or pending relationships do not justify affiliate links. CriteriaDesk will use a program’s tracking links only after approval and after reviewing its current terms.

CriteriaDesk defines the problem, criteria, trade-offs, failure modes, and uncertainty before placing a commercial link. A page should remain useful if every affiliate link is removed.

Affiliate compensation does not determine:

  • which topics are published;
  • which criteria or risks are shown;
  • whether a product or platform is included;
  • the output of a calculator;
  • a fit conclusion or stop condition;
  • whether CriteriaDesk claims hands-on testing.

CriteriaDesk does not claim hands-on use unless the page states exactly what was tested. Documentation-based analysis is labeled as such.

Affiliate links use a nearby disclosure explaining that CriteriaDesk may earn a commission. The links are also marked technically as sponsored links where appropriate.

The third-party company controls its price, availability, service, account, tracking, returns, warranty, and program terms. CriteriaDesk does not process the transaction.

Prices and promotions

Prices, plan limits, commission terms, promotions, and availability can change. CriteriaDesk prefers durable comparisons of pricing mechanics and ownership cost. Always verify the current offer and terms on the provider’s own site before acting.
